In the summer months, we implement Summer Fridays.

This means that during this period most Tribe members can finish at 1pm on Fridays from June ‘til August if they’ve finished everything they needed to get done for the week.

We are already a flexible hours company and we trust you to deliver your expected output during the week rather than having you work set hours. Planning to take a Summer Friday means you are setting expectations around meetings and deliverables.

It’s meant to be fun and liberating. We trust each other. Use your judgement.

You need to be working during the week in order to take a Summer Friday. If you are booking a week or two off over the summer, please book the entire time as annual leave.

<aside> 🌻 There are some teams that don’t quite get to take this as frequently as others because our customers need them. And sometimes curve balls come in and we just do what we need to do to knock it out of the park. Again, good judgement reigns.

Summer Fridays must be requested and approved in Bamboo, this way your team knows who is planning to be out.

Ultimately you (and your manager) need to decide if taking the hours on Friday afternoon is in the best interests of the business.

You can book a Summer Friday:

• If you’ve taken 1 day off that week, but not the entire week
• A week in advance if you’re planning to smash it earlier in the week
• The day before when you’ve grafted and are feeling on top of your workload

You cannot book a Summer Friday:

• Without checking if you're needed
• If your role requires coverage during business hours - a balance with colleagues must be struck
