We’ve established a Group Private Medical Insurance scheme with AXA for permanent CybSafe tribe members who have passed probation. Ongoing participation in the scheme is at your discretion.

If you’re unwell/suffer an injury, and your GP needs to refer you, the scheme provides cover for you to be referred to a specialist as a private patient. This means you will have access to prompt and effective medical care at a convenient time and place. You’ll also get access to high-quality medical facilities.

Policy administration

Our Private Medical Insurance (PMI) is an opt-in policy. This means that you’ll need to complete **this form** to enrol on the PMI scheme once you pass probation. If you decide 6 months after you start, that you’d like to enrol, then that’s fine too! You can also use this form to add a partner or dependent.

How to manage your PMI

Your medical insurance policy is easily managed by the people team. Once you have passed probation, the people team will reach out to you to see if you’d like to opt-in to PMI. This is completely optional and you’ll see some information in your onboarding cards that’ll help you make a decision. If you decide to opt in, the people team will give you the relevant information that you need to access your policy. Please note that we can’t give tax advice, so please see below for notes on tax payable concerning your policy.

Adding family members to your policy

Should you want to, there is the option to add children & spouses to your policy. You can add the details of the family member(s) to be covered and you will be quoted the monthly premium that will be deducted from your monthly salary payment to cover this cost.

What’s included?

The scheme provides coverage for the following benefits:

PMI & tax

As CybSafe pay the premium for your Private Medical Insurance, this is considered a “benefit in kind” so there is a tax charge to pay. The amount of tax you will pay will be based on your personal circumstances.

From the 6th of April 2023, we will deduct the taxable amount from your monthly salary.

If you have chosen to add dependents to your policy, the additional monthly premium will be deducted from your monthly salary.

The table below is an indication of the tax payable based on the annual premium payable & your tax rate. This is the full-year indication.
